  tab

This year the TAB convention was held in the new Embassy Suites Hotel in Murfreesboro, Tn. which is south east of Nashville.

For the first time in the history of the Association the winner of the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor bestowed by the T.A.B. went to an engineer. The recipient was Watt Hairston, long time Chief Engineer for WSM. He has also served as the Chief for WLAC and WSIX also in Nashville, and has well over 40 years in the industry.

Bob Mayben & SCMS were there presenting COMREX with Chris Crump, HARRIS Corp with Garrett Wood, and SAGE Alerting Systems with Jerry LeBow.

Engineer in Charge Doug Miller of the Atlanta F.C.C. office had lengthy conversation with Jerry LeBow concerning the new CAP feature and other changes in the E.A.S. system, for which the new SAGE DIGITAL ENDEC unit was designed

COMREX featured the BRIC and ACCESS systems, and HARRIS showed an Intraplex STL and a HARRIS Net Wave console. With the SCMS exhibit positioned just outside the door to the Ennes Workshop area, traffic flow was excellent, with lively interaction with engineers and managers all during the day.
