Dante Network Expansion for Allen and Heath SQ Mixers
The Allen & Heath SQ Dante module is an expansion card designed to add full Dante audio networking to SQ-series digital mixers. It enables high-channel-count digital audio transport over standard Ethernet, allowing engineers to integrate their SQ console into Dante-based systems for live sound, broadcast, recording, and installed audio applications.
64 Channel Digital Audio Routing Over a Dante Network
With support for up to 64 inputs and 64 outputs, the SQ Dante card allows large-scale audio routing between mixers, stage boxes, amplifiers, processors, and computers on a Dante network. This makes it well suited for system expansion, digital splits, and multi-room audio distribution without the need for analog cabling.
Selectable Sample Rates for System Compatibility
The module supports operation at either 96 kHz or 48 kHz, allowing seamless integration into Dante networks running at different sample rates. This flexibility ensures compatibility with existing Dante infrastructure while maintaining the high-resolution audio performance expected from Allen & Heath SQ mixers.
Multitrack Recording and Playback via Dante
When paired with Dante Virtual Soundcard or compatible Dante-enabled recording devices, the SQ Dante card enables multichannel recording and playback directly to and from a computer. This makes it a practical solution for live multitrack capture, virtual soundcheck workflows, and post-production recording environments.
Redundant and Switched Network Connectivity
Two locking EtherCon ports allow the SQ Dante card to operate in either redundant mode for increased reliability or switched mode for simplified network routing. This provides added confidence in mission-critical live and installed systems where network stability is essential.
Integrated Control Network Bridging
In addition to audio transport, the module includes an internal control network bridge, simplifying system setup and reducing the need for additional networking hardware. The card is also compatible with Dante Domain Manager, making it suitable for managed Dante environments in enterprise and large-scale installations.
