Central Distribution Hub for ME Personal Monitoring Systems
The Allen & Heath ME-U is a touring-grade 10-port monitor hub designed to distribute audio and power to multiple ME personal monitor mixers from a single central location. Built to support professional live sound, worship venues, touring rigs, and installed audio systems, it acts as the backbone of an ME personal monitoring setup by delivering audio streams and Power over Ethernet to connected mixers with reliability and consistency.
Ten Powered EtherCon Outputs for Scalable Stage Monitoring
The ME-U provides ten locking EtherCon output ports, each capable of delivering both power and up to forty audio sources to connected ME-1 or ME-500 personal mixers. This allows performers to control their own monitor mixes without adding local power supplies or additional cabling on stage. Multiple ME-U units can be linked together to support larger systems, making it easy to expand monitoring capacity as stage requirements grow.
Broad Compatibility with Allen and Heath and Third Party Systems
A standard ME input card is included, allowing direct connection to dSNAKE networks used by GLD and Qu mixers, as well as iLive ACE and Aviom A-Net 16 systems. For applications requiring integration with other digital audio networks, the input card can be replaced with optional MADI, Dante, or EtherSound cards. This flexibility makes the ME-U suitable for a wide range of professional audio environments and system designs.
Automatic Channel Naming and Network Configuration Options
A dedicated network port allows connection to a computer for browser-based setup and configuration. Channel names can be manually entered or automatically received from compatible Allen & Heath mixing systems, reducing setup time and minimizing errors. The same port can be used to connect to an iLive network to pull channel labels directly from the console, ensuring consistent naming across the entire monitoring system.
Tour Ready Rackmount Design with Quiet Cooling
The ME-U is housed in a robust 2U rackmount chassis designed for touring and fixed installation use. A quiet internal cooling fan maintains stable operation during long events without adding unwanted noise to the environment. The compact form factor allows the unit to be rack-mounted in monitor world, side-stage racks, or control rooms, keeping system wiring organized and accessible.
Reliable Power and Signal Distribution for Performer Confidence
By centralizing audio distribution and power delivery, the ME-U reduces the risk of stage clutter, loose power supplies, and inconsistent connections. Each connected personal mixer receives a stable signal feed and power source, ensuring reliable monitoring throughout rehearsals and performances. This design supports clean stage layouts and dependable operation in high-pressure live sound situations.
