Desktop Gooseneck Microphone Base with Push-To-Talk or Push-To-Mute Control
The Astatic 40-117 desk stand is a portable desktop base made to hold Astatic 800 and 900 series gooseneck microphones, and it also works with many third-party miniature gooseneck mics that use a standard 3-pin XLR connection. It gives you a stable mic platform for podiums, desks, counters, and lecterns, while adding a simple, visible talk control so users know when they are live.
Push-To-Talk and Push-To-Mute Switching for Lecterns and Paging
This base includes a soft-touch membrane switch with an LED status indicator and supports push-to-talk or push-to-mute operation. That makes it a strong fit for paging systems, council chambers, classrooms, worship lecterns, corporate conference rooms, and any environment where the operator needs quick control of the microphone without touching a mixer.
Programmable Operating Modes with Easy Under-Base Settings
The button behavior can be configured using DIP switches on the underside of the unit, allowing different switch modes to match how the room is run. This is useful when a venue wants consistent mic behavior across multiple podiums, or when an installer needs to match the mic switch function to a DSP, automixer, or paging input.
Balanced XLR Connectivity with Built-In Output Cable
Connection is straightforward with a 3-pin XLR female input on the base for the microphone and a built-in 7-foot male XLR output cable for routing audio to a mixer, wall plate, stage box, or processor. The XLR format supports balanced audio, which helps reduce hum and interference in installed audio systems and longer cable runs.
Shock-Resistant Base for Lower Handling and Vibration Noise
The underside includes shock-resistant padding designed to reduce noise from desk bumps, tapping, and vibration. That matters in real-world use where presenters rest hands on a lectern, shuffle papers, or reposition the stand during meetings, helping keep speech clearer and more professional.
Portable Setup with Options for More Permanent Mounting
Because it is a portable base, it can be placed quickly for temporary events, breakout rooms, or shared spaces. For fixed installations, the base also includes keyholes that can be used for more secure mounting, which is useful for public-facing kiosks, municipal desks, and facilities that want the mic position to stay consistent.
