Professional Boundary Microphone for Conference and Voice Applications
The Astatic 930VPL is a boundary microphone built for speech capture in sound reinforcement, conferencing, and voice applications. Designed for desks, podiums, or flat surfaces, this condenser mic delivers superior intelligibility with selectable pickup patterns and remote control logic functions. Whether it's a council meeting, classroom discussion, or corporate boardroom, this mic ensures clear communication and control flexibility.
Continuously Adjustable Polar Pattern for Versatile Use
Unlike standard mics that lock you into one pattern, the 930VPL features a continuously variable polar pattern. With the ability to shift between omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8—and everything in between—you can fine-tune its directional response based on the acoustic environment. This makes it ideal for unpredictable spaces or multipurpose rooms where mic behavior needs to adapt.
Logic Control Integration with External Systems
The integrated logic I/O functions allow seamless interaction with automatic mixers, teleconferencing platforms, and control processors. You can assign external control over mic muting, LED behavior, or mode switching, which is essential in environments with centralized AV management. The mic can also respond to external mute cues while providing visual status through its built-in LED.
User-Configurable Membrane Switch for Flexible Control
At the heart of the 930VPL’s user experience is a soft-touch membrane switch that can be programmed for push-to-talk, push-to-mute, or toggle operation. Combined with the LED status indicator, users receive visual confirmation of mic status. The switch function can also be tied into logic output for more advanced system control.
Built-In High-Pass Filter for Clearer Speech Capture
An onboard high-pass filter (80 Hz, 12 dB/octave) helps eliminate low-end noise like footfall, HVAC rumble, or stage vibration. This allows the mic to focus on vocal frequencies while minimizing background interference—ideal for rooms with ambient low-frequency noise.
Engineered for Professional Installations and Long-Term Use
Built with durability and installer-friendly features in mind, the mic includes both rear and bottom cable exits, a rugged black urethane finish, shock-absorbing base pad, and secure mounting slots. A 30' detachable cable (TA4F to XLR) is included for straightforward integration into permanent setups or mobile rigs.
