The Atlas Sound IP116-EDU-CS is a rack-mountable GLOBALCOM®.EDU IP controller designed to manage comprehensive audio communication across campus-wide networks. Built to handle mass notifications, emergency alerts, and routine messaging, it integrates smoothly into school districts, universities, and other educational facilities. This system supports live, scheduled, and priority-based messages, offering a scalable solution for multi-zone IP paging, intercom, and public address systems.

Preinstalled GCK Software for Simplified Setup and Control

The unit comes fully equipped with AtlasIED’s GCK (GLOBALCOM® Control Kit) software, ready to run out of the box with a browser-based interface that simplifies setup and management. With its intuitive configuration tools, users can easily schedule announcements, assign zone groups, manage priorities, and configure event triggers—all without needing advanced programming knowledge.

CobraNet Audio Transport for 16 x 16 Digital Channels

Designed to support up to 16 input and 16 output digital audio channels using CobraNet® Audio over Ethernet, the IP116-EDU-CS provides robust audio distribution through standard network infrastructure. This makes it easy to scale across buildings and zones while maintaining synchronized, low-latency audio performance. The device also includes two balanced analog audio inputs for background music or paging mic integration.

Integrated VoIP Support and External System Interfaces

The IP116-EDU-CS supports VoIP communications through WAN-enabled SIP and PBX trunking, making it compatible with a wide range of telephone and intercom systems. It features eight logic inputs and eight relay outputs, allowing connection with fire alarms, access control systems, and external triggers for automated or manual announcements. Built-in support for industry standards like G.711 and G.722 ensures high-quality audio compatibility.

Advanced Message Handling and Emergency Response Functions

This controller manages live, delayed, and pre-recorded messages, including ad hoc voice recordings and text-to-speech announcements in multiple languages. With the S.A.F.E. (Smart Alerts For Emergencies) system and NeverMISS™ priority management, it ensures messages are delivered efficiently during critical events. The built-in scheduler allows precise message timing, profile creation, and automatic event triggers—ideal for bell schedules, drills, and paging overrides.

Housed in a 1RU chassis, the IP116-EDU-CS includes a 64-bit Intel® Quad Core™ processor and 24-bit audio engine with 48kHz sample rate. It connects via standard RJ-45 and supports 100MBps/1000MBps network speeds. Certified to UL and CSA safety standards, this controller runs efficiently on 36W max power and is backed by a 36-month warranty.
