Dual Channel Wireless Handheld System for Studio-Quality Vocals
The Audix AP42 VX5A is a dual-channel UHF wireless microphone system designed for performers, presenters, and production teams who want studio-level vocal detail in live environments. This system combines the R42 diversity receiver with two H60 handheld transmitters fitted with VX5 supercardioid condenser capsules. It is built for concerts, broadcast, houses of worship, and corporate events where clarity, consistency, and reliable wireless performance are essential.
UHF Diversity Receiver with Fast Frequency Coordination
Operating in the 522 to 554 MHz frequency range, the R42 receiver provides 32 MHz of tuning bandwidth and 106 pre-coordinated frequencies. One-touch auto scan quickly identifies clean channels, while infrared sync instantly pairs the receiver with each handheld transmitter. Dual-antenna diversity design improves RF stability and reduces dropouts in busy wireless environments. The 19-inch rackmount chassis supports permanent installs and touring rigs alike.
VX5 Condenser Capsules for Detailed and Natural Vocal Sound
Each H60 transmitter is equipped with a VX5 supercardioid condenser capsule designed to deliver detailed, natural vocal reproduction with excellent articulation. The capsule provides a smooth and extended frequency response from 40 Hz to 16.5 kHz, capturing subtle vocal nuance while maintaining control on loud stages. With high SPL handling up to approximately 140 dB, the VX5 performs reliably for powerful singers, spoken word, and broadcast applications.
Handheld Transmitters Built for Professional Use
The H60 handheld transmitters feature slim, well-balanced metal housings that are comfortable to hold during long performances. A soft mute switch allows quiet on and off operation, while the high-contrast LCD screen displays group, channel, frequency, and battery status at a glance. Adjustable AF gain settings and selectable RF output power allow the system to be optimized for different venues and stage layouts.
Receiver Connectivity and System Monitoring
The R42 receiver offers both balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4-inch outputs for flexible integration with mixers, audio interfaces, and PA systems. Its front-panel LCD provides real-time RF and AF signal strength, frequency information, and battery indicators for both channels. Adjustable AF and RF gain controls help fine-tune performance, while a ground-lift switch assists in eliminating hum caused by ground loops.
Expandable Wireless Solution for Multi-Mic Setups
Designed to scale with production needs, the AP42 VX5A supports operation of up to eight systems simultaneously for a total of 16 wireless channels. Lock functions prevent accidental changes to transmitter and receiver settings during use. Included accessories such as antennas, BNC cables, rackmount hardware, audio cable, power supply, and AA batteries make the system ready for immediate deployment.
