Extended Microphone Positioning for Guitar and Bass Cabinets
The Audix BOOM-CG is a steel boom arm extension designed to expand the placement range of Audix CabGrabber and CabGrabber XL microphone mounts. It allows engineers and musicians to position microphones farther from the speaker cone without using floor stands, making it easier to capture the desired tone from guitar and bass cabinets in live sound and studio environments.
Designed to Work Seamlessly with CabGrabber Systems
This boom extension attaches directly to the adjustable angled arm of the CabGrabber or CabGrabber XL, integrating cleanly into existing cabinet-mounted mic setups. Once installed, it extends the mounting reach by up to 12 inches, providing added flexibility when standard close-miking positions are too limited for the sound you want to capture.
Flexible Mic Placement Without Floor Stands
By extending the microphone farther from the cabinet, the BOOM-CG makes it possible to explore multiple mic positions, including edge-of-cone, off-axis, or slightly pulled-back placements. This added distance can help balance low-end response, midrange clarity, and room interaction while keeping the stage or studio floor free of additional stands and clutter.
Adjustable Steel Construction for Secure Mounting
Built from durable steel, the boom arm is engineered for stability and long-term use in demanding performance and recording setups. A thumbscrew adjustment system allows the boom to be configured into multiple angles and positions, ensuring secure microphone placement even in high-vibration environments such as loud guitar cabinets.
Ideal for Live Sound and Studio Applications
The BOOM-CG is well suited for touring rigs, rehearsal spaces, and recording studios where fast setup and consistent mic placement are priorities. It provides a compact, reliable solution for cabinet miking that saves space, reduces setup time, and maintains consistent positioning from show to show or session to session.
