Networked Microphone Interface for Modern AV Installations
The Audix DN4 is a Dante and AES67–compatible 4-channel microphone interface designed to connect Audix RJ45-equipped microphones directly to an audio-over-IP network. It serves as a central hub that delivers high-quality digital audio, logic control, and power over a single Ethernet cable. This makes it ideal for conference rooms, classrooms, convention centers, government facilities, and houses of worship that require clean installation, reliable performance, and centralized DSP control.
Simple Plug and Play Audio over Ethernet Design
The DN4 allows four Audix RJ45 microphones to connect using standard Cat 5e, Cat 6, or Cat 7 cabling, eliminating the need for traditional analog mic wiring. Each microphone port is optimized for the specific gain structure of compatible Audix microphones, reducing setup time and preventing wiring errors. This design supports fast deployment while ensuring consistent, predictable audio levels at the DSP or networked audio controller.
High Resolution Audio with Per Channel Control
This interface delivers 24-bit, 48 kHz digital audio for each microphone channel, ensuring clear speech intelligibility for installed sound applications. Each channel includes selectable preamp gain, along with adjustable low-pass and high-pass filters to tailor audio for speech reinforcement. Independent channel control allows integrators to fine-tune performance for different room sizes, microphone placements, and acoustic environments.
Integrated Logic and LED Control for Installed Systems
The DN4 provides advanced logic connectivity for installed microphone systems. Each microphone port includes two 5V logic outputs with source and sink capability for controlling LED indicators through a connected DSP. A logic input per microphone port supports button functions such as mute or talk switches. This makes the DN4 well suited for boardroom microphones, boundary microphones, and podium microphones that require visual status feedback and user control.
Dante and AES67 Compatibility for Scalable Networks
Built for professional networked audio systems, the DN4 supports Dante and AES67 audio streams and is ready for Dante Domain Manager environments. It can operate with either dynamic or static IP addressing, making it flexible for small networks or large enterprise deployments. The unit has been evaluated to meet UL2043 requirements, allowing safe use in plenum and above-ceiling installations.
Power over Ethernet for Clean Installation
The DN4 is powered entirely via PoE from any IEEE 802.3af–compliant network switch or injector. This removes the need for local power supplies and simplifies rack or ceiling installations. Internal flash memory preserves all configuration settings, ensuring system stability and preventing loss of setup data in the event of power interruption.
