Low Cost Broadcast Audio Routing And Switching

The BDI GPM-300-4 Crosspoint Switcher is a rackmount matrix switcher built to route and switch digital and or analog audio in broadcast and professional audio plants. It gives you a straightforward way to send any input to any output for everyday routing, emergency switching, and shared-source workflows, without turning your rack into a patch-cable puzzle.

4 Or 8 Channel Matrix With Multiple I O Configurations

The GPM-300 Series is offered in 4 or 8 channel versions and supports a wide range of I O configurations, making it easier to match the switcher to your facility, studio, or remote site. With its DSP-based architecture in a single rack chassis, the platform is designed to deliver routing flexibility without needing multiple separate boxes.

Switcher In Switcher Mode For A B Source Management

A standout capability is the Switcher in Switcher mode, where each output can have assigned A and B inputs chosen from any available sources. This is especially useful when you want common source sharing across multiple destinations, or when you want the feel of multiple independent switchers living inside one chassis for utility routes, studio feeds, or processor insert paths.

Emergency Routing For EAS Network And Backup Studios

For broadcast continuity, the crosspoint design allows emergency routing so any input can be mapped to any output when you need to recover fast. Common uses include EAS system sharing, network join sharing, and emergency studio sharing for N plus backup studio requirements, where clean, predictable switching matters more than fancy front-panel theatrics.

Silence Detection With Automatic Switchover And Auto Revert

Each output includes its own silence sensor so the unit can automatically switch over when the primary feed fails. After audio returns, an auto revert function can send routing back to the preferred primary source, supporting unattended reliability for on air chains, transmitter feeds, and critical program paths.

Glitch Free AES3 Switching With Built In Conversion Tools

For digital facilities, the switcher supports synchronous AES3 switching intended to be silent and glitch free, and includes sample rate conversion on every AES3 input to help manage mixed digital sources. The series also offers a composite FM stereo I O module option that supports composite output distribution and composite to AES3 conversion for specific broadcast workflows.

Modern Control And Integration For Automation Systems

The GPM-300 Series is designed for control and monitoring in real facilities, with Ethernet connectivity for SNMPv2 and compatible GUI control, plus RS232 and RS485 support for integration with many automation systems. A Tascam standard interface is also included for streamlined connectivity in common broadcast and audio plant environments.
