Finished in Genelec’s Producer dark gray, it delivers the same high-performance features as the rest of the 8340 line but with a refined aesthetic that blends into modern studio setups. Built for accuracy, this 6.5" two-way monitor combines DSP calibration, GLM compatibility, and deep low-end extension for critical mixing and mastering environments.

High Output Power with Extended Frequency Range
The 8340APM delivers 300 watts of bi-amplified Class-D power—150 watts to the woofer and 150 watts to the tweeter. This allows for high SPL performance with minimal distortion. The 6.5" woofer and ¾" metal-dome tweeter provide a frequency response from 38 Hz to 22 kHz, ensuring full-range detail from low-end energy to crisp highs. A bass reflex port on the rear enhances low-end output without sacrificing clarity or control.

Advanced Waveguide Technology for Focused Imaging
Imaging is supported by Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), which manages driver dispersion and ensures a wide and stable listening area. The DCW allows the monitor to deliver a consistent response across different listening positions, making it ideal for stereo, surround, or immersive formats. This is key when working in environments where the sweet spot must be precise and reliable.

Room Calibration with GLM Software Integration
As a Smart Active Monitor, the 8340APM connects to Genelec’s GLM software system for in-depth room calibration and system tuning. With a compatible GLM User Kit (available separately), users can automatically align timing, level, and EQ settings based on room acoustics. This ensures mix translation across listening environments and is especially useful in spaces where traditional acoustic treatment is limited.

Flexible I/O and Smart Power Management
XLR connections on the back panel support both balanced analog input and AES/EBU digital input and output. A digital signal can be daisy-chained to additional monitors via the digital out port. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) automatically places the speaker into a power-saving standby mode when not in use and reactivates on signal detection. For manual operation, rear-panel DIP switches allow room response adjustments and level control without software.

Sleek Enclosure with Mounting Versatility
The die-cast aluminum cabinet is built using Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) design, which reduces unwanted reflections and cabinet resonance. The Producer finish adds a dark, professional look, while the included Iso-Pod stand decouples the monitor from surfaces and allows for easy tilt adjustments. Threaded inserts are also provided for compatibility with wall brackets and K&M mounts.
