Professional Dante Network Monitoring and Diagnostics
The Nixer RD Dante is a 2U, 19-inch rack-mounted unit designed for comprehensive monitoring and diagnostics of Dante audio-over-IP networks.Capable of handling up to 64 channels at 48kHz (or 32 channels at 96kHz), this device provides high-quality audio playback through built-in 75mm full-range speakers or a 6.35mm headphone jack. Its robust design and versatile features make it an essential tool for audio professionals seeking reliable network performance assessment.
Intuitive Touchscreen Interface for Efficient Control
Equipped with a 5.0-inch (127mm) 24-bit color LCD and capacitive touch panel, the RD Dante offers an intuitive interface for navigating its features. The high-resolution screen displays comprehensive metering, routing, and status information, allowing users to quickly assess and manage network performance. The user-friendly menu system ensures efficient operation, even in demanding environments.
Versatile Input and Output Options
The RD Dante provides a range of input and output options to accommodate various professional audio setups. It includes stereo balanced line outputs and AES output via XLR connectors, with configurable settings to follow main volume or mute controls. An AES input is also available, along with a stereo unbalanced line input on a 6.35mm jack, suitable for connecting common music playback devices.Additionally, a 6.35mm headphone socket and microphone input with gain control enhance its versatility.
Comprehensive Monitoring and Diagnostic Features
Designed for in-depth network analysis, the RD Dante supports two main modes of operation: user-defined mix to L and R output with customizable user memories, and PFL mode for channel-specific monitoring. It features 64-channel high-resolution meters, optional peak indicators, and large LR meters displaying levels from 0dBFS down to -60dBFS.An internal 25W/channel amplifier powers the built-in speakers or headphone output, ensuring clear audio reproduction.
Reliable Power and Network Connectivity
To ensure uninterrupted operation, the RD Dante includes dual IEC mains inputs (90-250V, 50-60Hz) that can be used individually or together for redundancy. Dual 1Gbps RJ45 Dante inputs support switched or redundant operation, providing flexibility in network configurations. Network settings, routing, sample rate, and device identification can be managed remotely, enhancing its integration into complex systems.
Built-in Test Signal Generation
The RD Dante features an internal oscillator capable of generating sine, square, and triangle waves at selectable frequencies ranging from 50Hz to 10kHz, as well as white and pink noise. These test signals can be routed to Dante outputs and/or the unit's outputs, facilitating system testing and troubleshooting without the need for external equipment.
Compact and Durable Design
Measuring 494mm in width, 300mm in depth, and 88mm in height, and weighing 7.5kg, the RD Dante is built for durability and ease of installation. Its rack-mountable design allows for seamless integration into existing setups, while the removable rack ears provide flexibility for desktop use. Firmware updates are easily performed via a dedicated USB B connector on the front panel, ensuring the unit remains up-to-date with the latest features and improvements.
