Comprehensive Dante Audio Monitoring in a 1U Rackmount
The Nixer RL128 Dante Monitor is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mounted Audio over IP (AoIP) monitoring and mixing unit designed for professional audio environments. It supports up to 128 Dante channels at 96kHz, providing high-resolution audio monitoring capabilities. This unit is ideal for broadcast control rooms, live event production, and studio installations where reliable and efficient audio monitoring is essential.
Flexible Operation Modes for Diverse Workflows
The RL128 offers two primary modes of operation: Mix and Listen. In Mix mode, users can create a stereo mix from up to 256 channels at 48kHz (128 channels at 96kHz), including inputs from a microphone (via the headphone connector) and an AES input.Alternatively, Listen mode allows for quick channel monitoring by routing a selected channel directly to the left-right output, canceling any previous selection. This flexibility caters to various monitoring needs in dynamic audio environments.
Intuitive Control with High-Resolution Display
Equipped with a 6.6-inch diagonal (168mm) 1440 x 240 24-bit color LCD and capacitive touch panel, the RL128 provides an intuitive interface for users. The high-resolution screen displays comprehensive metering, routing, and status information, facilitating easy navigation through the unit's features.A user-friendly menu system ensures quick access to all functionalities, enhancing operational efficiency.
Versatile Output Options for Comprehensive Monitoring
The RL128 delivers audio outputs through built-in 4mm x 9mm full-range speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, with automatic speaker muting when headphones are connected.Additionally, it offers stereo balanced line outputs and an AES output via XLR connectors on the rear panel. These outputs can be configured to follow the main volume settings or the main mute control, providing versatile monitoring options. The mix output is also routed to the AoIP output, ensuring seamless integration into existing audio networks.
Robust Connectivity and Redundant Power Supply
The rear panel of the RL128 features four Primary and Secondary network ports, accommodating up to four AoIP inputs. It includes two balanced line outputs on 3-pin male XLRs and an AES output on a 3-pin male XLR, along with an AES input via a 3-pin female XLR connector. For power, the unit can be powered via two 2.5mm DC input connectors requiring 24V at 2A, with screw locks to prevent accidental unplugging.Using both inputs provides redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted operation in critical applications.
