The Nixer RL128 Dante Monitor is a 1U rack-mounted AoIP monitoring and mixing system designed for professional Dante networks. Supporting up to 128 channels at 96kHz or 256 channels at 48kHz, this unit is ideal for live production environments, broadcast facilities, and OB trucks where space is limited but performance cannot be compromised. With intuitive controls and a comprehensive interface, the RL128 lets you easily listen, mix, and manage networked audio signals directly from the rack.

Flexible Dual Mode Operation for Audio Engineers

Users can switch between two main operating modes—Mix Mode and Listen Mode—based on their workflow needs. In Mix Mode, the RL128 offers a robust 259-to-2 mix engine, accepting up to 256 AoIP sources along with a mic input (via headphone jack) and AES input. In Listen Mode, users can instantly route any selected channel to the LR output with a single touch, automatically clearing previous selections. This makes it particularly useful for critical listening and fast fault diagnosis in complex Dante networks.

Comprehensive Audio Output Options for Versatile Deployment

Audio from the RL128 is delivered through built-in full-range speakers or a 3.5mm headphone jack. When headphones are connected, speaker output is muted for private monitoring. Rear panel options include stereo balanced line outputs and AES output via 3-pin XLR connectors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional equipment. The mix output is also available over the AoIP stream, making it easy to integrate with other Dante devices.

Large Touchscreen Interface for Efficient Monitoring

The RL128 features a high-resolution 6.6" (168mm) color touchscreen with a 1440 x 240 display and capacitive touch controls. This intuitive interface provides fast access to all system features, including metering, routing, mute control, and channel settings. The responsive UI and clear layout minimize setup time and simplify complex audio management tasks, even in high-pressure environments.

Multiple AoIP Network Ports and Redundant Connectivity

With four Primary and four Secondary Dante network ports on the rear panel, the RL128 offers exceptional connectivity for AoIP environments. These allow for simultaneous streams, backup paths, and flexible network topologies. Output routing options can follow the main volume level or mute status, providing customizable signal behavior. An AES input via 3-pin female XLR is also included, adding even more versatility for hybrid analog-digital environments.

Reliable Power Redundancy for Mission-Critical Installations

The RL128 is designed for uninterrupted performance with dual 2.5mm DC power inputs requiring 24V at 2A. Each input includes screw-lock connectors to prevent accidental disconnection. Running both inputs simultaneously enables redundant power supply configurations, ideal for mission-critical installations where downtime is not an option. This ensures the unit remains powered and operational even if one power source fails.

User-Friendly Software and Future-Proof Updates
