Equipped with two balanced XLR line-level inputs and unbalanced 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch stereo inputs, the HX-3 offers flexibility in connecting to different audio sources. Its 1/4-inch loop-out allows for daisy-chaining multiple HX-3 units, expanding headphone distribution as needed. Headphones connect via panel-mounted 1/4-inch stereo connectors, ensuring secure and reliable connections.

Built to withstand the rigors of field and studio environments, the HX-3 features a high-strength, extruded aluminum chassis with protective metal end panels. All-metal connectors are solidly mounted to the chassis, providing durability and resistance to RF interference. The unit is free from "Pin-1" grounding issues, ensuring clean audio performance.

Flexible Powering Options

The HX-3 operates on two AA alkaline batteries, providing up to 18 hours of internal battery power. For extended use, it also accepts external DC power ranging from 5 to 18 VDC via a chassis-isolated input. A power LED indicates battery status, turning red when approximately four hours of battery life remain.

High-Fidelity Audio Performance

Delivering a 125 dB dynamic range with a flat frequency response from 10 Hz to 50 kHz, the HX-3 ensures accurate and detailed audio reproduction. Each of the three headphone outputs offers individual volume control, and the unit supports stereo or mono monitoring. A peak LED indicates headphone overload, helping to prevent distortion.
